This chapter deals mainly with, feminism, which is a reaction to patriarchy and phallocentrism.
There are different types of feminisms, which have an emphasis on different aspects of women's discrimination. Some will accentuate the equality of men and women, while others will focus more on the creative difference of women. Barker argues that equality and difference do not contradict each other.
This discrimination has been largely experienced in representations of women, on television, in movies, and in all kinds of literature.
