Day 1.
The course seems very interesting. I'm curious to see how such a large topic will be approached, and if it will apply to the contemporary french culture (which I come from, and will probably go back to soon).
I also have a few ideas for the term paper, we'll see how they develop as time goes by.

Hey Simon, glad you're in the class. My wife and I were in Paris this summer and LOVED it. As you know, lots of French philosophers are really important to the study of culture. You should expect to hear about them a lot.
